Thanks AGAIN, Dougie

Hi Dougie

copies of c&g certs yes
ditto birth cert and anything else thats a copy of an original official doc

your refs i assume your just going to send an original signed by whoever supposedly wrote it so why certify it ??
your own drawings and specs again are original work so theres no need to certify them, i included several of my own cad drawing and a wiring spec that i wrote for a local wharehouse again unsigned as its my own work

has this made it all clear now ??

Just adding the final touches to my Occupational Experiences section and wondered if
  • Brief description of tools possesed

What you mean like Risk Assesments & Method statements and the like?

I do raise these as part of my job but was going to omit them on my application as it was swaying more towards the supervisor role that i do i want to steer away from that if i can because i am going for Special Class.

What type of thing did you have in mind?

The above or listing safe isolation proceedures , safe working heights, COSHH , MEWP's , PPE , Hot work assesments , confined entry work etc etc
Do you think it would be in my favour to give them an overview of how i would normally approach a job or is this just feeding them to much info that aint on there list of criteria that needs to be met?

What's the verdict?

Cheers

You might be right, where do you stop with it all?? I can only go by the Vetassess guidelines as they did specify OH&S on their list of requirements. I sent a generic risk assessment and method statement and then wore all the PPE clobber when posing for photos of me doing various work.

I think you should at least include a list of PPE which you would regularly wear. Never know, they may be hotter on it for special class??

Thanks for that John after a bit of diliberation i have decided to have a photo shoot around site tomorrow and so i will make sure that it catches me with all the PPE on and of course my best side :p while i pretend to do some work for the pictures.
But the site i work on is Zone 1 Hazadous Area and so getting the permit to walk around with a camera may raise a ew eyebrows with the client but sod them think it would be good to include photos's of all the stuff i have been ranting on about in my application

Again thanks

Re: How did you present your TRA application?

Hello

Just thought i'd let ya know i passed TRA for electrician special class and i included:

Apprenticeship cert + 10 pages showing skill progression throughout.
College ONC/HNC certs + 4 pages of course syllabus.
10 pages of various tasks/duties undertaken in electrical technician position listing all tools used.
Employer reference on company headed paper signed by representative of company.
TRA never contacted me nor my company throughout the process and i didn't include any photo evidence.

Hope this was useful and goodluck.

Agent appointed March 2008
