All my stuff is going via private courier from now on.

DOUGIE AN LOUISE;

make sure you get every copy of all paperwork signed & dates that way they become a "Legal" document the more you put in the better chance you have of being accepted, list every tool every cable every type of board he has worked on explain what all tools are used for even if only the once. list all cable sizes. list all conduits & applications, list all trunkings (Duct here) steel & pvc list all switchboards 1 phase & 3 phase.every thing you both can think of the more the merrier.?????

just remember the tra application is read by a penpusher who will be looking for certian things and ticking boxes based on the "what does an australian trades person do" which i`ll post again

What are tradespeople in Australia expected to be capable of?
You must demonstrate that you are capable of doing the broad range of work normally done by, and to the same level of skill as, a tradesperson trained in Australia.

The work of a tradesperson includes:

reading work instructions and technical drawings common to the trade;
planning independently the method and order of doing a job;
using measuring instruments correctly;
marking out, laying out and setting up trade work;
selecting appropriate materials, tools, machines and equipment;
making appropriate settings on tools, machines and equipment;
performing trade work independently; and
checking and /or testing work against established standards.
You must also demonstrate that you have adequate background/theoretical knowledge.

if you dont cover all these basic items its iether rejection or a trade interview depending on just how many of the boxes were ticked

the artc however is read by a qualifed spark and put infront of the electrical committee much the same whay as your licence is decided,
for the artc i`ve always said and will re-iterate dont dumb it down too much write it all down as if you were explaining it to a second year apprentice;)

the only parts that need countersigning are copies of original documents
your cert for example refs written by employers dont need doing niethr does info say on the C&G

who can sign -- this seems to cause problems but i cannot see why its so

the immigration web site site says anyone who would normally countersign / certify a document in your own country -- if you look on the UK passport site it gives theese
http://www.ips.gov.uk/passport/apply-countersign.asp

now ive posted this before and had a couple of people straight on saying no no no ,must be a solicitor or a JP as that what it says for countersigning in AU

but i`m convinced thst i`m right anyhow i used a MD of an electrical firm
my busisness partner to be accurate and it wasnt questioned i did include a quick note regarding certify in the information that i sent along with the page from the UK passport site

hop this helps guys

regards steve

ps i stamped all mine prior to geting them signed using a word text box -- copy enclosed -- this can be dragged around the page so when its printed it dosnt cover any vital info ;)

Re: How did you present your TRA application?

steve`o;

regarding the signing of documents, your correct when you say it can be a person of standing like the MD of a company, or a JP (Doctor), Magistrate of a police Sargent or higher, so there is a wide area for people to get the papers signed, i used a friend of mine a magistrate i also used the PR person at BT to sign some papers & Not a word said about any problems.

sh1t i,m lost again now :ohmy: what do you mean when you say the 'original documents'? as i would have thought this refered to my C&G certs and original copies of references off the employers etc etc:confused::confused: what about auto cad drawings that i am including for evidence of circuits and cotrol drawings that i have designed myself, they dont need signing do they?? Thanks AGAIN, Dougie
