Help from UK Electricians
This is not an immigration related question but I was wondering if one of the Uk electricians could help me with an electrical matter. I have recently had some work done in my house and yesterday came home to find that some wiring had started to burn, there was smoke coming out of a wall socket and clearly we were not far away from a full fire. Fortunately we caught it in time.
I have spoken to the company that did the work but they are just not interested. I thought they would be horrified to hear of such a thing. I really think this needs to be reported to some licensing body or something, but don't know who to contact or how to go about it.
I would be grateful if any of you reputable electricians out there could point me in the right direction or otherwise advise.

On the test certificate you recieved, there will be a logo (niceic, eca, napit etc). look for it online and get there phone number to call them. Also on the cert will be the installers enrollment number. Phone to complain about the work, they will contact the installer requesting him to go back and sort it. If he doesnt come back, phone them back and they should contact another registered spark nearby to come round and sort it all out. IF they send another sparks out it will be billed to him not you, so at that point it is in his interest to sort it out quickly. Good luck
