Default Getting a licence in NSW?

Hi, has anyone on here got their electrical licence in NSW?

It says on the web that you need:

1) Trade recognition, i.e. ARTC ok so we all know what that is!

2) A minimum 12 months electrical wiring installation work in residential,
commercial and/or industrial situations.

Now is that 12 months in NSW, OZ or is experience in the UK acceptable?

3) Completion of ‘Certificate III Electrical Wiring’ through NSW TAFE.
Has anyone done this course, and if so whats involved?

Thanks

Andy

Andy,

Go the PeerTec route and get yourself a SA licence, NSW route involves a three year TAFE course plus one years documented wiring experince (AUS).

The TAFE course can be done in one year through open training and education network!

Still a year is a long time!

Also and correct me if I am wrong, another poster, told me if you have 12 months of more post apprenticeship experience in the UK then you only need 3 months of OZ experience!

Still a bit of a catch 22, as you need to work as a spark to get that experience!

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Why waste your time and money on the NSW route when Peer Tec route is cheaper and quicker.
