Can any one explain what the difference between the 2 are and which one is better to get.

In some states there are is difference, in others an electrical mechanic can have a full licence, and an electrical fitter gets a restricted one.

Definitely aim for the mechanic classification if you can.

Another explanation is that a mechanic is an installation spark and a fitter is a maintenance spark.
As Wendy has stated, go for the mechanic.

Thanks for the reply, and am I correct in saying that the tra will ultimately have the finale say and decide for the applicant anyway, but on the application state electrical mechanic
