Re: ARTC Result
Hi guys,
I'm about ready to send my application off. Any recommendations for couriers or postal services and prices? And best of luck to you all with your applications. I'm sure I've read somewhere (might be on here or another forum/site) that the LTC only convene once a month to consider applications and that processing time could be taking around 2-3 months due to a significant backlog. Regards Derren |
Re: ARTC Result

Just one more question. There are 2 address options to send to. One is a PO Box address for post and one is a proper address for courier delivery. Now seeing that using Royal Mail is obviously post ,I'm assuming you didn't use the PO box address as your delivery had to be signed for? Regards Derren |
Re: ARTC Result
No reply for my OH either and his was received on the 23rd June:curse:

Re: ARTC Result
Hi all,
Just been reading a post on another well known expat site. They lodged their application on 12 May and have just received notification that their ARTC has been granted. So it looks as though applications are taking around 3 months to process. Regards Derren |
Re: ARTC Result
Thanks Derren
Fingers crossed hopefully I might here something very soon. Cheers Stixblue |
Re: ARTC Result

Re: ARTC Result
Congratulations mate! Thanks for letting us know what the waiting time is. So hard to plan anything when you dont know how long TRA will take.
Can I ask did you have to do phone interview or any other tests? |

How long did your applications take to get delivered. I sent my application off two weeks ago and it still hasn't been delivered. Rinkerdink ,on another thread, sent his off 2 days after mine and his was delivered within a week. I'm stating to think my application may have been lost. Regards Derren |
Re: ARTC Result
Yes i think it only took about a week.
Hope its not lost, have you made copy just in case. |

Hope its not lost, have you made copy just in case. Fired off an email to the TRA yesterday and received an acknowledgement of my application today, phew!!. Didn't want to ask my solicitor for another freebie ( certifying docs). Now, the finger biting can begin in earnest. Regards Derren |
Re: ARTC Result
well done, i will have to call or email them today as i have new email and just bit of a hurry up. Went for interview yesterday and they need the artc before you start.

Have you used their online internet tracking portal. It says on mine awaiting assessment. I suspect it says this all the way up to your grant or refusal for the ARTC? Regards Derren |
Re: ARTC Result
Yes that is what is says up untill they make decision. I had a result yesterday , after giving them an email and telling them i was now in adelaide my finalisation date was filled as 23 . 9 .11. So i think it will now be posted out and hopefully a good decision.
Will let you know what they say. |
Re: ARTC Result
Good luck Johnny
PEER is really relaxed sure you`ll be fine. Cheers Stixblue |
Re: ARTC Result
Not granted. Just logged on and this is what it says in the decision.
I dont know what to say other than i'm f#ckin livid. This basically prevents me from working as a spark . I sent apprentice papers, certificates 17th ed, o.n.c in electrical & electronic engineering, Authorised person for Lv, copies of last 5 jib Approved cards, References, Job history working for james scott , drake &scull, scottish power, t clarke etc. And sent 3 job senarios. Some serious words will have to be said on monday and i ask myself what was the point of the fu~ckin vetasses test in blackburn that cost us all £1000. Will keep you all posted. At least here i can go to beach with kids and try and forget about it. |

I take it you get an opportunity to talk to one of the assessors to find out why your application was unsuccessful? It will be very interesting to hear what they say. The only explanation I can think of right now is that they refused on the grounds that you have already been granted an OTSR by VETASSESS. I've read a few posts in the past where people have been refused because of this and yet others have been granted despite this. Did you include your VETASSESS results in your ARTC application? Kind Regards Derren |

I suppose this is the biggest fear of all, makes it all the more wrong that they are saying you have to be living in Australia before applying, to find out you can't work in your trade up to 3 months after arriving just isn't fair. Fingers crossed you can sort something out tomorrow, good luck |
Re: ARTC Result
Hi Johnny
Cant believe that at all. Hope things gowell on the phone tomorrow. Good luck Stixblue |

Downloaded letter today and while they recognise my quals as an electrician in the uk i apparently have not given any evidence of my day to day workings since 1987 when my apprenticeship finished. Tryed to call and held in que for 10 mins so decided to drive up to 115 Grenfell st the address on there web. Dont bother , a waste of time they dont know why address is on it. So then went to skill recognition on currie st and spoke to a decent bloke who took all my details and have to meet another bloke who has dealt with this problem before. Got home and then emailed TRA to basically say i thought they were out of order. Waiting on reply. |

So see what they say tomorrow. Here is the form http://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/energy.../R018_0711.pdf Cheers mate |
Re: ARTC Result
well i've only been in adelaide for 2 weeks and just got this decision . so i'm still in a bit of shock and have to consider all my options. Do you mean move to WA or just go for this cource. Dont you have to be a resident in Wa to do this and it would be a Wa licence you would get which i would have to swap to SA.
Your confused, My HEIDS ALL over the SHOP I'm already booked into peer for wiring regs. I think i'll have to wait till i meet this bloke at the skills recognition and see what he says. thanks for the link mate. |
Re: ARTC Result
I meant do the course in WA, take the license and transfer it where you want (eg. SA, VIC etc), regarding the energy safety form you don't need an ARTC in WA if you have vetasses OTSR.
