Hi there,
Myself and my partner are moving to Nicosia in September and we have just been given our address (my work are sorting out and paying for out apartment). We have been told that we will be living in Vasilios Pavlou Street in the Strovolos district of Nicosia, but I cant for the life of me find it anywhere on the mapping/GPS sites online.
Does anyone by any chance have any GPS details so I can find it on Google Maps? Alternatively, ANY information about the area would be greatly appreciated (i hear it is close to a nice park, and thats all I know at the moment!!)
Many thanks for your help in advance. If anyone wants to email me details I'm on <Snip, not a good idea to post email address`s on a website unless you collect spam >

Hi ianuxb,
Sorry to sound cheeky but who will you be employed by? I'm only asking because my husband has been offered a job working for a bank in Nicosia to start in Sept. They will not pay for relocation. They did not even pay for him to fly to Cyprus for his interview.
We still have not excepted the offer as my husband thinks the salary may be too low.
I did notice from looking for apartments to rent that Strovolos seemed like a decent enough area , and had nice apartments.
Hope to hear back from you.

zizi,
The work is for an American International School. They are paying for our flights and to ship our personal effects to Cyprus, so thats not a drama. The wages (with bonuses) are very good as well so I dont think we'll have dramas (they are paying our rent and 1/2 the bills as well).
The interviews were done by phone so no travel was needed.
Fingers crossed that you sort everything out and that the bank stump up a decent offer for you.
Might see you around in Nicosia somewhere

Hello again ianuxb,
I hope you don't mind me asking how much will your income be after tax? As my husband has been offered a Project Management role in I.T. for 42,000 Euros. After paying 30% tax it will leave us with 500 Euros minus all monthly expenses.
Would you consider this a good salary for a family of 4?
Thank you

It really does depend on what your lifestyle is, as 500 Euros a month isnt bad if you have paid ALL of your bills (i.e. food, rent) before you are left with that figure. It doesnt leav much scope for travel elsewhere, but then who needs holidays when you're living in Cyprus! lol
