You book your appointment as part of the online application.

What happens if you cant find an appointment slot and so its not possible to submit the application? Read a lot of horror stories on here people waiting up till late at night or early hours of the morning just to get an appointment slot.

That tends to be premium applications lodged in person in the UK. I'm not aware of that happening overseas.
