Re: US back to UK, previous ILR question
I wonder how it will affect me? We left in 2002 when I got ILR but OH got a job offer. We own a house there,(registered in both our names, no mortgage and have it rented out. Have a joint savings account, and we kept filing tax every year since through our UK accountant although stopped paying tax as we have that agreement with Canada so don't double dip. I am also still paying my NI and have a letter when I got ILR to say I must apply for a returning Visa if I leave. Now we are not going back until hubby retires in 3 years but I am getting concerned because we want to retire back there. Surely this shows that we had every intention of returning?

Are you paying Class 2 or Class 3 voluntary NI?
