it looks like I have the opportunity to come over to England in a week or so I was wondering is there is anywhere I can go in England to physically do this, instead of doing it through the post? If that would be faster to do it that way or even cheaper? Does anybody know? Thanks

You can pay extra for the Fast Track service for your children's applications. This takes under a week and you would need an address where the passports could be posted to. You would also need to visit a Passport Office in person to lodge the applications. The fee is £87 per child. I would also confirm when you make your appointment that this service is available for first-time child applicants born overseas.

is this for getting passports or to register a birth? I am starting to think just to register the birth would be easier do you know if I can physically go somewhere to do that and how much it would be please thank you

That's for passports. For birth registration you'll need to apply by post to FCO Services in Milton Keynes. That's whether you are in the UK or abroad.
