Default Spouse visa fees higher. Any explanation?

Hi everyone..... My solicitor submitted a spouse application yesterday on my behalf. But he says visa fee was £1952.46 and IHS £1601.61. I am just wondering if anyone could help me understand why they would be different from what guideline says.
Also is there a way of applying for priority service after submission as that option wasn’t available when he made the application?

Thanks in advance

Probably down to the exchange rate. Which currency are you paying in?

Applying from outside UK is 1523.00 GBP; 1033.00 GBP from within UK.

The charge for the IHS should be 1872.00 (3 x 624) .....

Hi spice. What explanation did your solicitor give for the visa fee being higher than you expected?

When I was at the Hong Kong visa application center doing biometrics recently, the staff asked if I would like to have priority service and passport courier back service. I am not sure if that is offered in your applying country though.

SanDiegogirl I think you are right because the confirmation email for standard visa was 2224 USD which equates to £1600. So maybe messaged me wrong way round. It’s a relief to have that idea. I was worried thinking he’s messed it up.
Jac2020 so you never got the option when applying? Thanks for the heads I will ask my partner to check during the biometrics appointment. What form do f payment would they take on the day?
