Hi Everyone,

Following on from my previous post, I have some questions regarding the accommodation requirement for settlement visas.

I have read and been told that several people on this forum have had success using a form of temporary accommodation such as a hotel, self-serviced apartment, etc. as their UK address (to satisfy this requirement). If you have done this and were successful with your visa application what documentation did you send in to support your application and did you explain in an accompanying letter what type of accommodation it was and why, etc?

On the flip side, if you used this type of accommodation to satisfy the requirement and your visa was rejected as a direct result of this, could you provide some insight into why your visa application was unsuccessful? Did they provide you with information as to why it was rejected and how you could rectify it if you were to re-apply?

Unfortunately for you posters rarely return after they have received their visa. If you search the forum you'll find examples of what people sent to satisfy the requirement and the result.
