I am non-EEA partner of british citizen. We are planning to move to spain to use the surinder singh route because my wife cant achieve the ukba financial requirment of 18600, currently i'm on a student visa in uk, is there anyone who can tell me which kind of visa do i need to go with my wife, i know about tourist visa but its only for 3 months and we are planning to stay there for for roughly 6 months.
Thanks

As long as you have a visa that allows you to get on your flight you will be fine. In the past, my civil partner held normal tourist visas for Spain and the Netherlands and I was informed that that's all he needed to set up residence with me (although I didn't actually live in either of those countries).
You will them have to register when you get to Spain. Sorry, I'm not sure of the exact process for registration.
Hope someone will be along to help you soon!

Hi, did you end up going to Spain? Did you find out if you needed to get a visa before you leave or if it is ok to get one once you are there? We are thinking of doing the same thing... Any advice you can give would be very helpful!
Thank you!
