Wishing to move back home. How do we do this?
I am really hoping someone can help me on here. I've been reading some of the sticky threads, but I'm still confused.
I moved to the USA in 2003, got married and have a green card. We have a 6 yr old daughter together (she has an American passport, no British one yet).
We would like to move to the UK in the next year or so... but I'm pretty confused as to the best way to do it.
Do I have to have either a ton of money in savings, or I have to have a job in the UK to support my husband and child? How do I do this if I am living in the UK and looking after my daughter?
Is there any other way to move back?
Can we go back on a visitor visa for the Americans and then find work for my husband?
I suddenly feel so naive! For some reason I didn't think it would be difficult

Reading more into the rules. It says this as one of the exceptions:
EX1 the applicant has a genuine and subsisting parental relationship with a child who
is under the age of 18 years;
Well, my child (who will have a British passport) is under 18 and my husband has a 'genuine and subsisting parental relationship' with her.

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question but I think you might have more luck with answers if you post it in the Citizenship-passports-family visas section. Link below. Hopefully someone there will know the answer

Hi there.
I shall move this to the visa section where there may be more response.

Ok thank you so much - however I just wrote another post - sorry about that. The other one is actually clearer than this one (now that the gravity of the situation has sunk in), so if you want to delete this thread that's fine by me.

Aha! Yes. I just saw that and agree, it is clearer.
I shall close this thread so as not to cause confusion.
All the best.
