Default Getting nervous about son's UK passport...

So, we're off home in just a few weeks - on the 11th July.

However, about 8 weeks back we applied for our 18-month-old son's UK passport (he already has a US one) and there's no sign of it yet - the UK consulate website said to allow 7 weeks for it to come, and there's still no sign of it. We haven't even had the supporting evidence returned to us yet.

When we arrive in the UK, it'll be the first time my wife is entering after getting her ILE - would it be an issue for us to bring our son in on his US passport, and then just get his UK one sent over to us when it finally arrives, or do we need to wait, or make other arrangements? Waiting isn't really an option as I have a job start date that I can't really change...

Have they charged the Credit card for it yet? I noticed ours arrived pretty quick after the CC was charged.

I was directed to the ridiculously expensive UK Consulate helpline - apparently the passport was dispatched from the UK by DHL today, so we should have it later this week. So that's good news - shame I had to pay $30 for the phone call to find out!

They have no information on the supporting evidence being sent back from Washington though, but, if the passport's on its way, it can't be far behind.
