Correct Address of UKVI office in Sheffield

Hi everyone!

I am currently applying for a spouse visa. I've already had my biometrics done at the VAC yesterday and we're just about to post the application bundle to Sheffield. My husband living in Bristol will be the one to post the bundle actually as he doesn't trust the couriers from the Philippines to deliver the parcel on time. Now my question is, what is the correct address? We are so confused because we can see 2 kinds. Some people said it's

Settlement Applications, International Operations and Visas, PO Box 5852
Sheffield, United Kingdom S11 0FX

but, the one included in the application confirmation email says

International Operations and Visas, 6 Millsands, Vulcan House, Sheffield, United Kingdom, S3 8NU

Thing is, when I searched for the 2nd address in Google Maps, it's labelled as "Premium Visa Processing..." something something so I find it a bit dodgy too. We're only applying under standard processing time. I hope someone can enlighten me.

Thanks in advance and any help would be appreciated :)

Mousey x

The first address is a PO Box. The second one is the physical address, Vulcan House being the UKVI office in Sheffield.

So, send to 2nd address is preferable?

I suppose so. 2 people have told me the same address so far :) I've asked in different forums

I was told the documents are supposed to be sent to the PO Box. I sent them to PO box address and they were accepted, copied and returned within 10 days.

Re: Correct Address of UKVI office in Sheffield

If you send your application by post then you want the PO Box. If you want to send your application by courier then you'll need the physical address.

Re: Correct Address of UKVI office in Sheffield

I am glad this topic was raised for I can't find any information about Sheffield address on the gov.uk site. Do they provide it after submitting the application (we haven't applied yet - just want to be prepared ;) )? And the second question - not sure if anybody knows - does the address vary from country to country? The thing is the address stated on visa centre page for Russia (at least the one I could find) is:
UKVI
PO Box 3468
Sheffield, UK
S3 8WA

Thanks for your time!

Wonder if anyone sent to the physical address via Courier i.e. International Operations and Visas, 6 Millsands, Vulcan House, Sheffield, United Kingdom, S3 8NU ... ?
I am about to start my application, and want to make sure those original documents will arrive safely by having someone signing off at the other end. The idea of posting original documents to a PO box freaks me out a bit.......

Hi, if it scares you that original documents might just end up getting lost, you can always scan them and print them off to A4 size paper in coloured ink. Then, you should make a cover letter explaining why you didn't send the originals :) I've done that before when I applied for a visit visa and they were okay about it.

It's quite a big hassle here in the Philippines to get new copies of original documents and can be quite costly so I don't always send them.

Anyway, still up to you.

We just actually posted my bundle last February 1st and I'm crossing my fingers to hear from them today. I hope they acknowledge that they've received it.

Where you need to send your documents will vary depending on where you lodge your application. An application lodged in Hong Kong may very well be processed in Manila. I would wait and see what happens at your biometric application before making a decision.

Sending only photocopies for a settlement visa will almost certainty result in a refusal.

Re: Correct Address of UKVI office in Sheffield

To add to the PO BOX stuff:

Hi all,

I have two people who sent support docs to 2 different addresses both using RoyalMail Special Delivery:

International Operations & Visas
6 Millsands, Vulcan House
Sheffield S3 8NH

the other

PO Box 5852
Sheffield
S11 0FX

Is one more correct then the other or do they do all end up in the same place anyway. I understand that the PO BOX might be where they receive the docs and scan them and the Vulcan house might be the department it ends up in after being scanned, OR do you think its the same thing?

Thanks

They will all physically end up at Vulcan House for processing. The PO Boxes are simply for sorting and delivery purposes.

Thank you Paris -
The person who sent the documents to Vulcan house is for a settlement visa from Pakistan. He sent it to Vulcan house directly and NOT Po Box. He has received signature from RoyalMail to say it was signed for at Vulcan House. He has been panicking so much because he has not received any acknowledgement from UKVI of docs yet. Someone said Vulcan house is for USA/CA people to send too and PO Box was for people otherwise such as from Pakistan.

Do you think they are in right place and he should not worry.

Probably, but since he didn't send it somewhere they were expecting it then it might take a while for them to match it with the right application.

I'm applying from the US and currently NO couriers will deliver to an international P.O. Box, so is it best to go for the Vulcan physical address or send my document package to my husband in the UK and have him send it via Royal Mail to the P.O. Box in Sheffield?

Just really don't want to screw this up!

I say send all support documents to your Husband then let him forward to Sheffield from within UK. He should not use ParcelForce because they dont delivery to PO BOX. Tell him to use RoyalMail special delivery.

Theres so many address, but I think they all point to the same Building anyway, so it will get there at the end.

Settlement application - All customers applying for UK settlement, including Priority Visa applicants, must send their supporting documentation directly to UKVI in Sheffield, UK by post. Prior to sending any documentation to UKVI, applicants should make sure that the courier company they are planning to use will deliver to Post Office (PO) Box addresses in the UK. Please note this is not applicable to Settlement Gold Premium Applicants applying at our Premium Application Centres.

That's because they don't publicise them. The general enquiry number and email address are 0300 123 2241 and [email protected]. Whether they would actually ever get through to someone who would be able to help is another matter. You should tick 'Documents' on the customs form to avoid any delays.

Hi Nadz,

My fiance is also applying from the Philippines and I will be posting our document bundle to Sheffield. Please, can you confirm where you send your docs too? Also, did you already receive and acknowledgment email from Home Office/or get your originals back?

Salamat!

I’m not sure what you think the problem is if you sent them to a physical address. The only difficulty is when you use a courier like DHL or Fedex, who require a physical address and signature, to send documents to a PO Box.

Hi Brit in Paris! Thank you very much for your reply it’s much appreciated!:)

My concern is I have read a note on the TLS website saying to be aware that Parcelforce don’t deliver to a PO box so do not use Parcelforce..

So I’m worried I shouldn’t have used Parcelforce at all and that Parcelforce won’t deliver to the S3 Sheffield postcode that I used too... :/

Except S3 8NU isn’t a PO Box.

Had to wait for the decision first before I could reply to this one. I sent soft copies to my husband in Bristol. He printed them off and sent to Sheffield. Got the decision last April 20 and it was successful :) Thanks to everyone who shared their input on this thread!

So your husband sent all your documents as uncertified photocopies, including your birth certificate, marriage certificate etc?

They are certified true copies. However, I just scanned all of them in coloured form, sent the files to my husband by email and he printed all of them to be sent to Sheffield.

Thanks for clarifying. I received my spouse visa three years ago and I'm sure the instruction was that only original marriage, divorce and birth certificates would be accepted. Perhaps this has changed, I had a look at the latest documents list here https://assets.publishing.service.go...settlement.pdf
and it doesn't mention that these have to be originals. However it does state that 'marriage certificate, birth certificate, divorce certificate' is required under applicant documents, while under sponsor documents it says 'copies of' marriage, birth and divorce certificates.

If at all possible, I think applicants should submit originals of these documents. Congratulations on your successful application

Spouse of Scouse, would you mind pointing me to where it says the applicant needs to provide their birth certificate? As I can't find it and I didn't do this! Can only see reference to marriage, death, divorce certs etc for applicant. I'm sure I asked the guy who scanned my docs and he said no too. But wouldn't surprise me if he was wrong.

If you didn't include a self addressed pre-paid envelope how do you expect them to return your documents? You may get an email later asking you to send them an envelope. Wait a bit longer. There is no set time for receiving your documents back.

Birth certificates are usually for children you have and want to bring into the UK for immigration purposes. Or to perhaps prove you were born in the UK but are now living abroad under a foreign passport etc.
