I've been going around in circles on the gov.uk websites trying to figure this out. Has anyone else been through this process?
I am a British citizen, but wasn't born in the UK or any overseas colony or territory. Neither were my parents. We moved to the UK in the 1970s. I received citizenship some time in the 80s, although I'm not sure by what route.
1) Based on this, is my recently Canadian born child eligible for a UK passport?
2) The application is asking about other passports... should we wait until we get her Canadian passport through first, then include the requested photocopy... or can we just apply for both at the same time?
3) The passportapplication.service.gov.uk online application is all in the context of the applicant applying... should I be answering as if my daughter was answering, or myself as the parent? (Questions such as "Have you held a UK passport before?", "Were your parents married" etc)

I have moved your thread over to our UK Immigration forum. I’m sure someone will be along shortly to help you.

1) That would depend entirely on how you became a British citizen. Being unsure isn’t going to cut it as far as your children’s eligibility is concerned. My gut instinct tells me they’re eligible but unless you can produce a citizenship certificate then you won’t get any further.
2) It’s better to apply for the British passport first to save on your photocopying bill.
3) Your daughter is the applicant - answer all questions from her point of view (“you” or “your” = her, “your parents” = you)

As a naturalized citizen, I assume my child would be eligible. Is that correct?
Would it be necessary to produce the certificates for her passport application, or would my passport suffice?

You can order a replacement copy - or a certified copy (depending on when you became a Citizen)
https://www.gov.uk/get-replacement-citizenship-certificate
If you need to search the National Archives to get a certified copy, here's the link: https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/...hip-1949-1986/

If you were under 18 then it’ll be a certificate of registration rather than naturalisation you’ll be looking for.
