BN(O) passport to enter UK
A British citizen who joined the citizenship ceremony outside the UK and use the BN(O) passport to enter UK decided to remain in the UK indefinitely.
I think must be allowed to stay in the country as he is a UK citizen.
But at the same time, the BN(O) passport to be red-flagged as an overstayer?
Does anyone have any ideas about what happens in this situation?
How to solve this issue ?
Thanks a lot.

Re: BN(O) passport to enter UK
I would recommend that they apply for a British Citizen passport as soon as possible. They are not permitted to hold both a BC and a BN(O) passport at the same time so their BN(O) passport will be cancelled.

Re: BN(O) passport to enter UK
The activities should be :
1. Use the BN(O) passport to enter UK, need to show the British Citizen certificate to immigration ?
2. then apply for a British Citizen passport inside the UK ?
3. the BN(O) passport cannot use anymore when received the British Citizen passport ?
Thanks.

Re: BN(O) passport to enter UK
I wouldn’t recommend it as the BN(O) passport is likely to be invalid as the person is now a British citizen. If necessary I would travel on a HKSAR passport instead but since it only takes a few weeks to receive a British passport then that should be their first preference.

He has no HKSAR passport, only has BN(O) passport, when he got the British citizen certificate he wants to enter UK asap, cannot allow 10 weeks to wait for the British citizen passport. He will apply for the British passport asap When he successfully enter UK.
What if he uses BN(O) passport to enter UK, border control allow him to enter UK or send him back to Hong Kong ?
If he can enter UK, any procedure he needs to do ?
Thanks.
