£650 Cost of Living Payment - Tax Credits Joint Claim
HI everyone,
Just wanted to know if someone can help me here.
It is regarding the £650 Cost of Living payment.
What if it is a Joint Child/Working Credits claim with one partner is British and the other has no recourse to public funds. Is this legal to receive without affecting no public funds visa conditions?
Thank You.

As this payment does not need to be applied for, presumably it will be paid to those people already getting benefits (i.e the British sponsor)
If you’re eligible, you’ll be paid automatically in the same way you usually get your benefit or tax credits. This includes if you’re found to be eligible for a Cost of Living Payment or a Disability Cost of Living Payment at a later date.

Child tax credit and working tax credit are considered public funds so your British sponsor can claim these but not yourself. The same would almost certainly apply to the cost of living payment.
