Its 8 years today since we arrived all wide eyed and emotional and a little scared at YHZ. Its been quite the ride and I have to say apart from some frustration that I went through with the differences, I have loved every part of it. I now have a certain appreciation of England that I didnt have before and am pretty damn happy all round.
Being Canadian now feels good too, like the difference between being engaged and being married :-)

Hey, I don't come on here that much anymore but saw your post and needed to say "Congratulations!!" I keep telling people we've been here 8 years but it's a lie... We don't celebrate our arrival until August!
So glad it's all going well for you! Miss having you down the road...
As for the engaged/married thing I think that is an amazing way of describing it... We're hoping to apply to get married later this year.
