Default 3 years

My third canniversary was on 1 May. Still loving life here in Vancouver. A side-effect of the pandemic is being able to apply for citizenship sooner than expected as I didn't travel outside Canada for 2 years!

No regrets about making the move - it's been entirely positive for me!

Out of curiosity, if you traveled outside of Canada for a holiday, presume that wouldnt affect your 2 year stay time build up?

As long as you spend 730 days in Canada in every rolling 5-year period, you meet the residency obligation..

I think two different time constraints are being discussed here, 730 in 5 is to maintain legal residence, while five years total in Canada is needed for citizenship.
