1 year in Calgary
Hi
Well we arrived in Calgary 1 year ago wow time goes so fast. We came with eyes wide open knew we loved the landscape but knew we needed to find jobs, schools .....
First year has had highs and lows but mostly good times. Daughter (17) hated doing grade 12 but did it with great grades and started Uni in Sept and loves that. English accent gets her lots of attention.
Dog settled day 1 flight did not bother him and loves chasing the wild rabbits.
I took a job way below UK to get in the door within 3 months increase 6 months offer of higher job now back to Uk status and I only work 4 days a week which is great.(IT Project Manager)
Husband continues to work for UK company and this is going well. He gets out during the day in the sunshine and loves it.
My advice to anyone is keep an open mind, work at finding that job meet people for coffee make calls don't rely on email. Have the days when you miss home shed a few tears its ok we all have them even if loving it here and make effort to meet people ( we are learning to line dance.... )
Well that is it for us. Good luck to everyone.
