We were hoping to get out for the start of june but this is looking less likely. But HRSDC approval is necessary.... for BC anyway!

Ps. we are being sponsored on the PNP by our employer

Health Authority near Edmonton are looking into the temp permit with HRSDC but I hope it takes less than 8 weeks. Pretty hopeful of a quick turnaround as the job she has been offerred has been advertised since Sept 2005 so most of the criteria are already met. Here's hoping anyway.

just a side - My hubbies job is HRSDC approved - hoops? yeah we've jumped 'em like everyone else and no it still hasn't speeded up PR application. When you put the HRSDC application in it may be worth getting your future employer to give the people a call from time to time, it helped with us.

Thanks all
Thanks all

The downside is that although its a permanent job the initial WP was only for 12 months. However we are told that reapplying up to 3 years is unlikely to be a problem. With a little bit of luck we may only need another year
Its great to get here quickly and at the moment we are trying not to think too much about the PR, it could make you very nervous! We've bought a house and everything is sorted, the idea of being forced to go back to the UK is to terrible to contemplate.
If you think your application is fairly safe then go for it! So far we have no regrets.

My wife needs some serious swatting to refresh those basic skills (she has specialised for about 15 years)He is a car mechanic - 20 odd years experience with a passion for american cars so knows a lot of the lingo - ie fenders = wings boot/bonnet=trunk/hood etc. He failed the 1st exam and had about 3 weeks to study before his permit ran out and our plans went t*** up - so no pressure there. He was staying with friends we had only met a few times and had very little peace where he could actually get his head in the books and had just started work too :scared: He passed his second exam but only just. It was super stressfull for all of us and our marriage as neither of us felt we were supporting each other - I had been left behind to sell the house and empty it of the rest of the crap we hadn't already shipped and we all know how stressfull selling a house in the UK is (nothing like that here). Anyway our marriage is back on track and we are here! Just hopeing we get PR and they don't send us back :scared: Oh and the other thing he said about his exam is although it is multi choice, the wording is very different in the questions, so you have to get your head round that too. I'm just glad it wasn't my quals we were comming on

Read on another thread that it took 4 months for your Temp permit to get sorted out could you break that period down any into delay at HRSDC/CIC etc? We are trying to get things concluded by the end of August for the school term starting but things at the Canadian side are very slow.

I hope that with the job having been advertised nationally since last September at normal hourly rates then HRSDC will be able to get their finger out quicker than that but then again it would be a first if anything happened quickly. Thanks again for your help.
