Default Working holiday in CA

Hi,

Me and a friend are looking into doing a year working in Canada, we will be 24 at the time and have both finished our degrees. We are not too sure which type of work we can get, if we are on this type of visa could we get work in any field?

The other problem I have been thinking about is which part. I know Canada is a vast country which is making the choice very difficult. I was thinking either Vancouver or Toronto, although I did have a little look at Calgary. Could anyone help with choosing a location?

Thanks,
Marc

On a WHV you may work for whomever and wherever you choose.
I don't think you can obtain an objective answer on where to live/work. If you're interested in downhill skiing then both Vancouver and Calgary can deliver. Toronto is, by far, the largest of the three you quoted and has the resultant more jobs.
Vancouver has the mildest climate, actually quite similar to the UK. Calgary can get very cold at times and I would say Toronto's climate is somewhere between the other two.

Thanks for that information, appreciate it. I guess it would most likely be between Toronto and Vancouver if in terms of finding a stable job to support me for the year, also I will guess Toronto has the better social opportunities if it has a larger population.

My degree is in International Business and Management, nothing to do with that field sadly. I am not sure whether I would be looking for a career job or something to provide a sufficient amount of money to survive the year there.

For short term employment max 2 years then the IEC programme is the best way at your age.
