Hello All,
I would really appreciate any advice you could give me. I am planning to go to Canada for just under 6 months to volunteer at a wildlife orphanage, there is no pay involved at all, just bed and some food paid. This is my main purpose of visiting, but the whole place is just run by volunteers, and the lady there said that noone had ever had to have a work permit before. BUT after reading the Canadian immigration site I am really confused whether I need a permit or not?
I am planning to leave in 2 weeks so very worried about this, if anyone could help I would be soooo grateful.
Thank you

hi....not sure if this is the case or not but i would have thought that as you are going for 6months or under, you can enter as a visitor for the six months (if your passport is acceptable, ie; a UK one or other acceptable passport, without any restrictions to it) and as you won't be recieving any pay or other financial benifits, you wouldn't need a work visa.....i'm sure someone else will be along soon with a more deffinative answere but good luck and it sounds like fun, working with the wildlife; enjoy.....
