True. This town just seems to have no jobs right now based on the lack of interviews, none so far in the past couple of months.

Hi, iam a newby to the site, i asked the question b4, but as a recruitment agent i would like to ask you, i am in Australia & have over 20 years experience in sales & management ( no formal qualifications ) I have tried through a migration agent to apply for Perm Residency, but do not qualify on points, therefore my option is to gain employment & enter on work visa then apply for PR, Without flying to Canada & campaigning companies for employment do companies like yours put up candidates from other countries & if so how do i go about it.

Many thanks in advance for your input
Chris & family from Australia.

If you don't have enough points now, will the extra 5 or so that you will obtain for having an offer of a job be enough to enable you to obtain PR. The system may have changed since I went through it, but I thought one still had to have enough points to obtain PR

I applied for PR through the Quebec route and planning to land in Montreal or the Gatineau/Ottawa region (which is still Quebec as most would know).
Gatineau is an option as I do have a few friends there whom I knew at university.

Would anybody be able to tell me how the Gatineau/Ottawa area would compare to Montreal when it would come to job opportunities in this present climate of recession? I worked in human resources/Occupational psychology for 5 years at mid management level and would be looking for opportunities in same area or related areas. I would of course be looking to take any decent job opportunity to start with!!

Any Ideas?
