I know a lot of expats who like Calgary ... some who have been here since the 60's ... but it isn't for everyone ... but neither is Victoria.

General advice for anyone moving to Canada: don't give too much weight to anyone's opinion of any Canadian city ... especially as so many of the posters on this forum have their own skewed agenda and a very obvious axe to grind.

Visit the cities you're interested in and form your own opinions ... in relative terms, it's cheaper to move around in Canada when you're earning in pounds than when you're earning in dollars.
