Re: When are doubts more than that?!
So far we can sum up this thread:
Some replies are making fun of you
Some replies are deliberately misleading
Some replies are completely barking
Some posters are projecting their own personalities onto you
Some (many?) posters are offering sincere and genuine advice.
All you have to do is decide which is which.
All pretty standard on here. If you ask a question about Canadians you get to learn a great deal about the British.
You come across as a fairly level headed person (well, apart for expecting some sense from us lot). FWIW I think you will be fine. Relax, come with low expectations and a sense of time. Once here get out and meet people. Get involved. You might meet a lifelong friend the first day. It might take a year or two. Give it a least a year or two. It might never happen. So what? You are with your family and doing what you think is best for them. Things have a way of working themselves out. And, if they don’t, it doesn’t have to be forever.
After all, you are going to find it much easier than an English family moving to rural mid Wales.

Ontario is deep in debt too and I do wonder how much better off you would be working for OHIP.
Personally I think, how much can healthcare systems change country to country so there will be issues, they'll just be different ones.

Re: When are doubts more than that?!
but there are less sheep in Bracebridge
I think somewhere in the thread the OP said something along the lines of being worried or having to adjust to living in smallville Ontario compared to her city in Wales.
After all is said & done I'm sure they'll be fine moving to Canada by the fact that her DH has a good job to come to & it'll be interesting to read any comments the OP has about life in Canada this time next year
