What's your commute?

Just wondering how far people commute to work in the morning and what's the maximum distance they would go? Return trip to work at present is currently 82 miles for me, but I have been known to do in excess of a 110 miles a day.

Google Maps tells me mine is a massive 4.6km. How I put up with it is beyond me.
In all seriousness my wife is the only one who has ever had a longish commute. While in the UK she had a 50 min journey from Farnborough to High Wycombe. She became used to it and for the UK that of course was nothing.
I have never had a long commute but if I had to I think one hour max would be my limit also.

For me it's a 5-10 minute commute to other side of town.
Mr Y-C-D is based at home but does travel all over northern NS (and parts of NB).
A traffic jam in this town (population around 20,000 including immediate surrounding area) is half a dozen cars in front of you at the lights
Back in Aberdeen I could easily spend 45 minutes waiting to get through 2 roundabouts on my way to work. 9 mile journey could take me over an hour

I think it's about 50miles each way for Mr B here. In the UK it was a 7min walk for him.

You haven't said where you live. As YCD said about Aberdeen, the distance is beside the point (to an extent) if the traffic doesn't move!
I've been driving to the other side of Calgary for my commute .... takes anything from 30 minutes to 2 hours (!) depending on the weather and traffic. I soon decided it was something I'd rather not do, as I'd be so tired coming home that I'd often get sleepy!
My new job is "downtown" and I am planning on taking the C-train
Once the new station opens in 2008, that will be even more convenient!

At present my commute is about 15 mins - 20 mins on a bad day! I leave the house, join HWY 103 at junction 4, head East towards Halifax and exit at junction 2. My work is 2 mins from the exit. Some days I wonder how I cope!
My commute in the UK was from Whitley Bay to Gateshead - through the `TOON` over the Tyne Bridge. Depending on what shift I was on it could take anywhere between 30 to 45 mins.

Don't do it anymore because I retired a little while ago (yeah!) but it was an hour and a half, door to door, each way. But on the train, so it was comfy and stress-free.

I'm about 10 minutes from town (about 14 highway kms). I work a late shift and, in the early morning hours in winter, the highway can sometimes be pretty bad.
When the conditions are bad it will take me anything up to 30 mins, 20mins+ for snow and up to 30mins for freezing rain.

Sub 10 minutes though if pushed I could do it in 5.
I could probably walk it in under 30 minutes.

My hubby commutes a whole 10 minutes and I commute a whole 5 mins - I wanted to walk mine but I am finding with my bad feet that this is not possible - it takes as long to walk as it does to get the car out and drive so it's really annoying I have bad feet that need chopping off and replacing with good ones!
