Re: whats canada really like
Saskatchewan is beautiful. It is hot is summer and cold in winter just as it's supposed to be. It's flat (I hate mountains), the people (where I live) are wonderful and go out of their way to be helpful. It is not a metropolis, but that's not what I wanted out of a move.
If I wanted Cardiff I'd have chosen Calgary. I come from an urban jungle and wanted space, that is what I have. However if I wanted a high paying job then I would say I'm in the wrong place. Unless you have a skill that's on their desperate list Saskatchewan will be sparse. They need all types of health workers so nurses of all types so you will be ok. You can keep your doors unlocked and you're children will be safe. Real estate is not cheap, food is not cheap, there are not many individual stores, Ikea is too far away for my liking and the cheese shop is too far away for my OH's liking. |

Pah. My nearest IKEA is a 12 hr drive, a 9 hr ferry ride and a further 24hr drive away. Or a 3 hr flight. You got it easy in comparison.;)

Calgary is nothing like Cardiff, not in any way. I don`t believe that anyone could describe Calgary (except the downtown and most don`t live downtown) as an urban jungle.
Sorry just to clarify I come from the Rhondda Valleys which I class as an urban jungle compared to where I currently live. |
