We have just sold our house and hoping to move out in August. We had our meds 28th March and sent additional info 3 weeks ago. If we don't get our visas in time for August can we book return flights for 6 months and go out anyway in the hope hubby can secure a job and get a work permit over there? If we have not got a pr card does that mean kids can't go to school?

Well... school doesn't start til September. I'd think it unlikely you won't get visas before then! We had meds mid May and got our visas the first week of August.
If you go out before then you have the delay of having to send your Passports back to UK for stamping and then you have to go to Canada border at least to do the landing. You can use the landing papers to get the kids into school if you are still waiting for your PR cards, but I doubt if they could atend school if you canot show right of residency in some form.
