factor in the fact that food up here in the wildeness costs more cos they have to get it here and yes the one place in town that does marmite is robbing us blind. not helped by my boy mixing it with maggi sauce and making a discusting smelling tar like dipping sauce for crisps, i mean chips.

other than that its what you get used to. im almost used to having scotch pancakes (buttermilk pancakes!) for breakfast with a fatty smear of bacon and hash browns.

on second thoughts i miss bacon. i used to take the fat off, here that is all there is and our local butcher is more adept at moose than pig sadly.

My husband is completely allergic to MSG if he ingests a bit he up chucks immediately.

My mother always made black pudding. Plus something that I loved called chitterlings, which we're pigs intestines, I think. Not had 'em in years but I did like them.

oh yeh i would like to try the beef madras pastie mmmm we are lucky enough to have a irish/scottish/british store nearby so we can get alot of things and loblaws and sobeys are good for salad cream, branston pickle mmm,
i miss a good fish and chips on a fri night or a good dona keba mmmm ok now im feeling hungry again !!!!!!!!
