What food stuff do you miss
I am gonna take one tub of food stuff in goods to follow - not perishable that is either hard to get or expensive in Canada. This will be used in emergency situations only.
So far I have:
Gravy Granuels
5 Large Bag of Cadburys Button
2 Jars of Branston Pickle
Yorkshire Tea (Normal & Decaff)
1 Jar of Bovril
2 bottles of Salad Cream
Numerous bags of Walkers Crisps
What else did people miss?

Always worth doing a search of the forum to read the other threads on the same subject - this one is only from the last week or two......http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=781682

Just so you know, 5 bags of buttons can never be enough, ever. You will be able to buy most of what you're bringing over from either Walmart at reasonable(ish) prices or specialist British stores, which are usually hugely expensive.

I miss a chinese takeaway that is delivered to your door on a Friday night that isn't full of MSG and sugar!

I always bring back a big wheel of cheese, either a cheddar or 'Lancashire', as a decent cheddar is expensive. Has to be declared though. Magnum PI will get you some Blackpool rock if you want when back in June, could post it to you.

Re: What food stuff do you miss
bisto gravy granules, real canadian superstore i can stop importing them form england now :P
marmite is hideously pricey for a tiny tiny jar its upwards of $5.
other than that, only thing is miss is my local donner kebab in Winchester, dont know (or care) what they put it in but oh man it was like heaven! only one kebab shop here in PG and i havent tried it yet.
chinese food here is different. they stick ginger on everything - offensive amounts of the stuff! but my local one has learned to leave it out for me and price wise its a lot cheaper to get a delivery friday night than it was in UK!
things i like that i didnt try till canada... perogies ( cheemos are best ) poutine, moose, and the best takeaway in prince george is a south indian place called spicy green. OH MAN! (and i dont like curry!)
