Had a bit of a wobbly day today, very emotional!!
Its such an uncertain prospect all this!!!
I think its cus I've been home alone all day packing... My home is becoming empty, all pictures off the walls...
Did I realise that I would feel like this? Eerr... no not really. I was so positive about this move up until about 4 weeks ago when I realised that it was really happening..
The only time I was this emotional was when I was pregnant!!! And..no I'm not!!?? One minute laughing and excited, the next sad and scared...
Friends wanting to come see me,and phone everyday... I never knew I had this many people in my life.
I look like sh...T, my backs killing me from all this packing, and the concoction of food types left in the fridge and cupboards leave something to the imagination. "Just eat it", I tell the kids!!!"we're not buying any more food"!!!
I'm sure I'll be OK tomorrow, just a bit of a wobbly day thats all.
Thanks for all your comments, I'm sure you all know what I'm going through!!
Goodnite peeps
xx

Well its 10 days till we actually leave the uk for Canada!! Its been a long time coming but has now crept up on us mega quick!!!
House contracts exchanged last Friday, Leaving Party this Friday, Container picks up our belongings next Thursday, House completion next Friday, then we're off!!!
How weird does this feel!, Excitement, nerves, sadness, fear etc....
Got a rental home waiting for us in Kitchener Ontario to start with, we have friends just round the corner. We don't plan on staying there though, its just a good place to start.
Things I'll miss:
Our friends, Ribena, gravy granules, jaffa cakes, Asda's "buy one get one free"!. Sneaked a few things in our container, (Not our friends) hope they're not found!!!
Anyone else going through the same as us?
Scary....

Ok, so the leaving party's over!!!
I made a concious decision not to get upset, and only once did I. That was when one of my longest friends wrote me a poem about all our experiences as friends. I told her off for doing it (in the nicest way of course). A couple that we know just came back from a recce trip last week. Well, they didn't wanna come home, and are now looking into starting the process, and they're coming out to see us at xmas!!
We never realised we had so many friends!!! About 200 came!!
We all had a wonderful time and plenty to eat and drink.
I think the tears are now showing though, all when I'm alone. Reading all our "best wishes" cards is sad. I'm gonna miss them all sooo much!!! Think I could hide em in my container and take them all with me?
Count down now though. Still got a few electrical items to get rid of. And another couple of trips to the tip!!

I hope all you peeps going through the same as us are handling it all well. And no, still no regrets!!

We're here!!!! We did it, we did it!
Tell you something though, HOW FRUSTRATING IS IT HERE. People are soooo laid back, don't they know I got sooo much to get done in a 24 hr period?
I know, I know, I came for a different pace of life etc... and Yes, people are lovely and friendly. Just sorting out SIN, Med Cards, Schools, Utilities, Buying electrical stuff etc... takes so long. We went out yesterday to buy a mobile phone and a set of curtains... It took 5 hours!! I came home and just cried... I've been here 10 days now and still no regrets but can't wait to settle in properly.
For the people that are coming to Canada soon, please be prepared to be FRUSTRATED!!! AAAHHHHHHH!!!!
Sorry to moan!!

Why do you not just embrace you're new life / world... You alone will not change the way things are, and if everyone works at the same (slower) pace, then you aren't going to miss out...
Take a chill pill and enjoy the fact you've made it and are living the dream.
