Well its 10 days till we actually leave the uk for Canada!! Its been a long time coming but has now crept up on us mega quick!!!
House contracts exchanged last Friday, Leaving Party this Friday, Container picks up our belongings next Thursday, House completion next Friday, then we're off!!!
How weird does this feel!, Excitement, nerves, sadness, fear etc....
Got a rental home waiting for us in Kitchener Ontario to start with, we have friends just round the corner. We don't plan on staying there though, its just a good place to start.
Things I'll miss:
Our friends, Ribena, gravy granules, jaffa cakes, Asda's "buy one get one free"!. Sneaked a few things in our container, (Not our friends) hope they're not found!!!
Anyone else going through the same as us?
Scary....

Yep, in the same boat, leave in 11 days, house packed and gone, leaving party this Friday, say goodbye to all the relatives and friends next week.
Moving into a house I purchased in Medicine Hat 2 years ago, can't wait to have my own place, we have been renting for the last 24 years.
I was asked what I would miss about UK, but I couldn't think of anything, apart from a few food items, how sad!!!!
Good luck, I hope it works out for you all.

Gill, We had to drop our house by £20K, but, we didn't want to sit around and wait indefinately. We ended up selling privately so no Estate agents charges, which was a big saving!
Good luck, your home will sell, promise!!

Hi
We have dropped 20k already, but the guy wants another 15k off, at this rate i might as well just hand him the keys and give him our morgage :curse:
Told him the price we will accept and that we all ready have a offer in for the asking price now, but she needs to sell her house
If i allow him to buy it, that is 45k under value price, sorry im not that mad, well NOT yet

I am off in 26 days and like u hippy chick i have sneaked in my own little food name brand. Cornflakes, rice, crisps etc.
Did u all know that canadian clothes are very odd, no offense bring all your clothes from the UK and try to do most of your clothes shopping in the US.
you might all be saying why bother leave for canada but there are positive and negative aspects of moving over.
I am so excited to moving over.

Just out of interest, have you got an email address for Claire at AVM?
I spoke to her last Thursday and she was great and said I would have a quote by Friday lunchtime - but still no price!!

Hi Erinbrooke, Clare at AVM's email is [email protected]
I spoke with her today and shes covering for her boss at the moment so shes mega busy. But shes lovely and I'm sure if you give her a call, she will sort that out for you.
AVM pick up our stuff next Thursday.
Nightmare listing everything in the boxes though!!!

Had a bit of a wobbly day today, very emotional!!
Its such an uncertain prospect all this!!!
I think its cus I've been home alone all day packing... My home is becoming empty, all pictures off the walls...
Did I realise that I would feel like this? Eerr... no not really. I was so positive about this move up until about 4 weeks ago when I realised that it was really happening..
The only time I was this emotional was when I was pregnant!!! And..no I'm not!!?? One minute laughing and excited, the next sad and scared...
Friends wanting to come see me,and phone everyday... I never knew I had this many people in my life.
I look like sh...T, my backs killing me from all this packing, and the concoction of food types left in the fridge and cupboards leave something to the imagination. "Just eat it", I tell the kids!!!"we're not buying any more food"!!!
I'm sure I'll be OK tomorrow, just a bit of a wobbly day thats all.
Thanks for all your comments, I'm sure you all know what I'm going through!!
Goodnite peeps
xx

Wow congrats and big best wishes to you all. hope it all goes well for you and take care.
Brother-in-law and family went through the same mixed emotions, like you, they been in there new life now for nearly three months and they say it's all worth it and love being there. They to tried to explain and just said there's no words to describe it, we will just have to wait for when it's our turn

Well done again and like the others have said, please come back and let us know how it all went and how you are doing.
Kind regards,
Carl & Tracey and kids
