Thats harsh! OK , so it isnt A&W, but its much cheaper and a couple of junior bacons sometimes hits the spot. And the drive through service is lightening quick.

You have obviously not tried A&W:sneaky:

To give Wendys credit, its one of the few places with half decent salads and the baked potato / chilli option is relatively heathy option too.

But for "chain store" burgers A&W is it for me. I dont know what it is they put in the onion rings, but its like cat nip for people! And cold drinks with NO ICE is a refreshing change too. Root Beer still tastes like medicine to me though!

No they don't have Wendy's in the UK. They used to but closed them down in the 90's coz they weren't popular with us Brits.

Wendys is the best, A and W is horrible apart from the onion rings which are the best ever! DQ does the best fries though.............

Sounds awful but at least give a try once, it's half and half root beer and orange drink. :thumbup:

At least you can go and get one if you want. I am sat here in the UK with limited fast food choice. The only drive-thru's we have are MD's and KFC. And they are both a load of crap.

I would give my right arm for a Wendys right now. Jealous :mad::ohmy:

His name was Dave Thomas and he was also the first big operator for the "The Colonel" and headed up franchise operations for KFC in Columbus Ohio. Maybe his problems started with scarfing down that stuff !

Hmmm, I haven't seen any A&W since I've been here, hadn't heard of them till I read this thread. Ian's pic has now put me off, although Steve's Swamp Water does sound disturbingly appealing!

For those in Toronto I must do a shout out for Gourmet Burger on Parliament St....the all time best chicken burgers I've ever had with a multitude of toppings and sweet potato fries :thumbsup: Better than any chain! It's almost too good, I have to avert my eyes in case I'm tempted inside.

The only good thing I can say about the golden arches is the playplace is a major draw when eating on the road with the kids as its a chance for them to run around and stretch their legs and (most importantly) leave mum and dad alone for half an hour before getting back in the car...
