I hear skeeter vacs work well in getting rid of mossies in the garden...we have a bug zapper but I honestly think it doesn't do alot to rid the area of mossies or black flies. We do have a screen over the deck to stop being bothered by the black flies in May and June...
Now you tell me Manitoba Black flies are big well as I understand it all the bugs are big in Manitoba!

Hi all,
I've just noticed, the last coupla pages of this thread have kinda slid away from the subject of weather, so i thought i'd ask a related question;-
Is it true that rain in Southern Alberta is very rare? Also, is it true that BC gets TWICE the rainfall than the U.K? (If so, i can only sympathise!!)
Kev.

(Mind you, Calgary is THE largest city in terms of size (not population), so the weather can be completely different within it)

One thing I like about Calgary is the size but at the same time you feel it's like a small town. You Calgarians prefer to build out and not up.

Hi again everyone,
I'm really sorry to repeat myself, but there's gotta be someone on this thread who can answer this question.....
Is it true that rain in Southern Alberta is very rare? Also, is it true that BC gets TWICE the rainfall than the U.K?
