We got them 'man made' beaches!

Not quite the same as living on the coast but there you go!

It's easier to walk round here as well no hills for about a 200 mile radius

I've heard that nobody has dogs on the prairies, as they run away.

LOL, Yeah but you see them running for about 12 hours before they disappear from view!

You need to find the right spot and use good bait.

Actually, I found, what is commonly called, a 'honey hole' the other day. Got 12 keepers in each trap, which, if you knew anything about crabbing is very good for this time of year.

I used to crab when I was a young lad - Dad/Uncles would drive me and my brothers/cousins to the seven sisters.

As I got older like a lot of things I stopped going, which is a shame really as it's a good family activity.

As was a drink in the Waldorf. Although it was in a bit of a rather dodgy, I mean edgy, area of town, which meant leaving the kids in the car was a little risky. At least it wasn’t as vapid and contrived as all these new brewpubs springing up all over the place.

Do you need good mussels or is it all in the wrist action?

People do tend to be a little over protective of the kids these days. Anyhow, how long would they actually be alone in the car if you just had a quick 4 or 5 pints?...an hour tops.

The responsible thing to do is to pop out with a couple of halves of lager shandy and some packets of crisps for the kiddies. Then you can stay as long as you want.

Fair point. Also, if it's a particularly hot day always remember to wind a window down an inch or two....I've certainly learned my lesson on that one.
