Waldorf is closing, because Vancouver isn't boring enough already
This city sucks.
I'm so upset about this I'm thinking about starting a Facebook group because that'll stop it.
Finally something interesting happens (the Waldorf revitalization), and then some fjakfdlafjda developer comes along and builds a condo building on it so more wannabe hipsters can preen themselves about how edgy they are.
Well I hope the new owners enjoy their abode between two car sales yards, one of whom is run by a nutter in a bitter battle with his ex over child custody - I know this because he regularly updates us all with signs - and absolutely no amenities except light industrial

The thing is, most expats aren't as boring as me or a lot of Vancouverites, so it's only fair they know what they are getting into.

I am a little confused (it happens). How come the closure of an artistic and cultural centre be a big deal? There was no culture here to start with. Appartently.

I watched the new 'love it or list it Vancouver' last night (I know, I'm sad). Just interested because we were supposed to go there and ended up in Ontario. I could not believe the price of property there!! The couple had a very standard house on a very standard street. It was nicely decorated, with small back yard and mountain views over roof tops. $1,100,000! You have to be kidding!! They didn't say exactly where it was but it had a beach nearish by and did look like a lovely area but blimey, that's expensive!! Their budget for a new gaff was $1.3 million! Yikes.

I too, dont understand people that slate YVR but continue to live there. I love it but I have been gone for over 8 years. yes its boring, but its CUT OFF from everywhere, no sister cities to speak of. No decent bands as its totally out of the way to tour to.
But I still loves it I do, which is why I am going back!!!

Must admit I'd rather live in a larger property that's worth less than a smaller property that's worth 20x what mine is worth. You enjoy the property while you are alive.
Property prices is something which has put me off looking out west during my time here.

I don't understand why people don't see the love I express in my posts for Vancouver. I just tell the truth. That's a very loving thing to do imo.
