Vancouver Haze...

This is the worst 'haze' I've seen in Vancouver, since I saw Damien Marley at one of the free concerts during the Winter Olympics!
Its pretty bad! The radio is telling us rain is coming in overnight to fix everything though. They're even playing 'Rain is a Good Thing' to help it along! Is quite surreal though. Its like a humid, sticky, dirty, sunny, winters day. Give me my darned North Shore mountains back! I've only a car dealership to stare at out my office window now!

I disagree that because it's a natural event this makes the air quality comparison invalid - it is what it is. I stand by my statement that yesterdays air quality is the worst that I have ever experienced in a city. I'm sure there are places where the air is a lot worse - but I've not been to those places. When the air is, in my experience, cleaner in large asian cities reknowned for their poor air quality, I don't think it's unreasonable or negative to comment on it.
Today is better fortunately - hopefully there will be some rain or wind and the air will get back to the usual high standard it is here (and I'll get my view back and be able to run the 10k round the park without feeling like I'm smoking a cigar at the same time).

Greenest city on earth? Well if they ever manage to put the bloody forest fires out maybe.

Less than 4 hours from White Rock.
I may go slightly over the speed limit every now and again.

I know it's a long way from Van that's why i quoted Printer as it was a question for him, i was just curious as to the whether they had re-opened them yet or whether it was a really bad problem that could take a while to fix!

Yes reopened now and only a small section affected anyway so not a huge deal BUT could have been much worse especially as it was long weekend and we had the Center of Gravity event which was right on the beach they closed.
The haze had cleared here 2 days ago but was back yesterday with a vengeance. Rain and cloud forecast this weekend.
