Are there any ex-pat groups that get together to socialize in the Vancouver area? I am moving there in a month and wouldn't mind hooking into some kind of function to meet people...

Plenty of ex-pats seem to frequent Doolins, the Irish pub on Granville at Nelson...
It was CRAZY in there when England matches were on in Euro 2004 - you couldn't get in the door, it was so full of people in England shirts. Didn't feel like you were in Canada at all.
As the other poster says, don't just restrict yourself to ex-pats!
