You can choose to have your pension paid into a UK or bank in Canada where it is paid in Canadian dollars. I have been told that it is a better rate because the government transfers such a big amount monthly. Obviously what you receive in dollars fluctuates with the exchange rate.
I don't know the transfer method but whether you call or apply with a paper application you will need the bank name and address, sort code, account name and number and swift, for example CIBC code is CIBCCATTXXX. When I did mine on the phone, he could confirm that my information was correct. Also it can be a joint account.

So for many years I was having my civil service pension paid into my UK account and then I used transferwise (now just Wise) to send it to me in Canada.
It seems to be more and more fiddly to access UK accounts so when I became eligible for my state pension, I opted to receive both pensions in Canada.
From the amounts I've received it's only different by a few cents. It's not worth fussing over.

Hello I finally got email from pensions people that they had sent letter about my pension application and that I would receive it in upto 3 weeks they say they sent it on 22 nd August but still no sign off it.
i am worried as it is confirming my pension and how much I will be paid as it is past my birthday now.So I should get it soon.
has anyone else had to wait this long for letter.

In my case something like 5 weeks later I hadn't received the letter (but I had the payment) so I emailed to say so.
I got a reply saying they mailed a duplicate but to allow up to 28 days and then the original turned up.
The duplicate arrived after another 4 weeks.
They send the mail via France, Netherlands, Sweden - presumably whoever has the contract has the contract at the time dictates where.

I got the letter they told me my first payment would be starting end of September buy nothing in the bank as of yet they are very vague as to what day they will send it and I don’t really want to call as I just spent 70 dollars on phone calls to them last month trying to sort out this

I'm guessing they've abandoned it since I saw it last year.
There's only an email form now, with a note to say it's taking even longer.
But maybe you can use the form to ask them to call you.
