Default UK Driving Points

Hi
If you got 3 UK driving penalty points for speeding (only minor speeding) would it effect your chances if you were to apply to move to Canada while these points exist on your licence? (last two years in UK).

Many thanks

No problem, and when you get your Canadian driver licence the points disappear (you do have to admit to them for your insurance though I think)

I had the same on my license when I moved over. They exchanged my license (in Ontario) and the points dissapeared. I have a new car insured with Belair Direct and they didn't ask me about my previous license. Unfortunately they do treat you as a new driver though.

They do disappear which is great, but we did have to declare them, they also want to know if you have had any accidents in the last five years and it also really helps if you take proof of your no claims discount with you as some insurance companies take you uk no claims discount into account, which helps a bit!!

This made me laugh, I will have to use this one when I get stopped again for speeding. I could say it to the Police officer 'hey officer it is only 'minor speeding' or to my husband when I get another 3 points. Hey love it is only 'minor speeding'.

I am sure the police officer will give me another ticket and my husband will definitley not speak to me for at least a week
