I'm just looking forward to the commonwealth games in a few weeks. Does anyone know if GB have some good medal hopes?

And at the Olympic Games it's a United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland team. Some British territories, such as Bermuda, do compete separately at the Olympics.

Perhaps Britain should take a leaf out of Australia's book and persuade a few Russians, Canadians and Austrians to switch allegiance?

Gold: GB (9), Canada (10)
Silver: GB (10), Canada (16)
Bronze: GB (12), Canada (10)
Total: GB (31), Canada (36)
Canada has half the population of GB.
Many of the Canadian winter medals are as a direct result of the Olympics being in Calgary in 1988 (speed skating and xc skiing). Let's hope 2010 and 2012 Olympics do the same for Canada (again) and GB respectively.
