Hi there - moving into an acreage at the end of march and need to plant some trees for a wind break - can you give me some suggestions please - need to bare in mind we have horses. thanks everyone

Many of the poplar species would do and are the most commonly used for wind breaks. Quick growing and hardy to the prairies. Need to be pollarded regularly once mature. May have to wait into May when the weather warms up a bit and you can get a shovel in the ground.
