I was just wondering if an american man that marries a canadian woman (and she sponsors him to become a PR) has to show anything at the border when he visits canada. Can he cross the border without any problem?

Yes, you have to show your passport at both sides of the border to cross and you may have to show your PR card when coming back into Canada. I haven't ever had any trouble with the crossing, but they do want to see the ID and they ask the usual questions.

I mean can the american cross over into canada ( without problems) if they are not a PR yet and they are still waiting...their PR status is still in process and they are married to a canadian?
