Traveling

I was just wondering if an american man that marries a canadian woman (and she sponsors him to become a PR) has to show anything at the border when he visits canada. Can he cross the border without any problem?

I am an American woman who is married to a Canadian man and I am a PR. Yes, you have to show your passport at both sides of the border to cross and you may have to show your PR card when coming back into Canada. I haven't ever had any trouble with the crossing, but they do want to see the ID and they ask the usual questions.

I mean can the american cross over into canada ( without problems) if they are not a PR yet and they are still waiting...their PR status is still in process and they are married to a canadian?
