The Bayview Extension allows easy and rapid access to the downtown, which is why so many professionals live there.

Leaside has its' own Lawn Bowling, Swimming Complex, Hockey Arena,Tennis Club, all can be walked to.
I thought people only went to that area for the dodgy Chinese massage parlours.

That's Richmond Hill.

The Chinese think Richmond is Rich Man, that is why you find so many Asian communities in places called Richmond, they think it is a sign of wealth.

Riverdale, which you mention as being "interesting" also has a significant Asian population; one of the kid's friends was one of three non-Asian students in his year at Riverdale Collegiate. Does this mean you think Richmond Hill to be interesting?

Riverdale and RH entirely different areas, one made up of old neighbourhoods, the other predominantly strip malls and new subdivisions with big houses.

We lived in Riverdale when we first came to Canada, it was mainly lower class and new Immigrants, neighbourhood now changed as it has a China Town, albeit a stinky China Town, big fights with city due to store owners leaving garbage out, which brings in rats.

Riverdale ends at the Danforth, which is predominantly Greek, hence, Greektown.

Some months ago I watched BBC World news. Mike Embley covered an article that explained what makes men and women attractive (swaggering and wiggling, it seems). He signed off with:

"and that from our department of sweeping sexist generalisations".

Dunno why that memory just popped back into my head.

Fascinating. Now please explain why there are so many orientals in Markham. And around Dundas and Spadina.

Yes, but Oakvillian that was my point too - in addition to probably doing better in percentage terms, Halifax offers a decent place to live. For example, here's what Soutcote could buy for his $600k near Halifax...

http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.as...ertyID=5782827 - great beaches minutes away, 30 min drive to the city, 10 acres, great views of the ocean etc.

or this http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.as...ertyID=5575255 - 3 acres, 2000ft waterfront, swiming pool plus a small private island for good measure!
