Failing that I noticed that round here at least there is a CT "gas bar" coupon to buy a new one for $8 with the purchase of gas. Should come with instructions

A temperature of -20C with a wind chill of -35C is still only -20C.
The temperature cannot go any lower than what it actually is just because the wind is blowing.
What the wind chill really means is that an object will cool off at the same rate as if the temperature was -35C (in this case) in still air. But even though it will cool faster it will not (can not) go any colder than the actual air temerature.

This is a dull block heater thread, couldn't we have revived the other one? I missed it first time round.
Edit: can't help with timer instructions, I didn't get one in the end...

I have a small inline heater and pump instead of a block heater, this heats the water and in turn a larger part of the engine, which also gives instant heat when the engine starts .One hour is all it needs.

I totally agree with you.
My comment was in response to OceanMDX's reply to an old posting of mine regarding wind chill, which had no relation to block heaters at all.

I'm just jealous that you're organised enough to keep things like that

She takes all my stuff and piles it up in the spare room, and from time to time when I'm forced to go find something I know I had put somewhere safe a true "voyage of discovery" takes place.
