I quite liked Parksville and Qualicum. Parksvile is very much like a seaside resort but it does have schools. Me and OH went to Qualicum and rather then just drive through on the Beach rd as was the norm, we went in and investigated and was pleasantly suppressed, really nice we thought, a family across the road from us have just moved here from Regina and one of them works at the RBC in Qualicum it takes her she said around 45 mins from .

Just spotted this thread.
Have recently come back from V Island. Loved Q Beach - they welcome newcomers really well. I am so jealous you are there.
